NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. — U.S. Open Cup soccer is coming to the coast!
Shark Coast FC will host Bold City SC on Sunday, Oct. 4, at 5 p.m. at the New Smyrna Beach Sports Complex in the Second Qualifying Round of the 2027 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.
The matchup brings together two Florida clubs from different leagues, with Shark Coast FC representing USL League Two and Bold City SC competing in the United Premier Soccer League (UPSL).

For Shark Coast FC, Sunday provides another opportunity to represent New Smyrna Beach and Volusia County on a national pathway. The club’s USL League Two program was created to provide high-level competition and opportunities for local and collegiate players while continuing to build a pathway from youth soccer toward the professional game.
Sunday’s match is part of a nationwide qualifying process for one of the oldest soccer competitions in the United States. A record 155 amateur clubs entered qualifying for the 2027 tournament, competing for 16 places in the Tournament Proper next spring.
The stakes are straightforward: advance and keep the Open Cup journey alive.
A victory Sunday would send the winner into the Third Qualifying Round, scheduled for Oct. 31-Nov. 1. From there, qualifying continues until 16 Open Division teams earn their places in the Tournament Proper.
Playing at home gives Shark Coast FC an opportunity to share the occasion with the New Smyrna Beach community. The New Smyrna Beach Sports Complex has served as the club’s matchday home, bringing together players, families and supporters from across the area.
Now, the Sharks welcome another challenge to the coast.
